Frequently Asked Questions
Trust us when we say that dentistry can be very complicated, so it’s more than OK if you have a few questions! Dr. Kazmi and the rest of our team would be happy to answer them so you have all the knowledge you need to take great care of your teeth. We’ve gone ahead and answered some of our most popular FAQs below, but if there is anything else you’re curious about, feel free to contact our office anytime—we’re always happy to talk to you!
One of my teeth really hurts. What should I do?
Start by rinsing and flossing around the tooth. Often, persistent dental pain can be attributed to a piece of food debris being stuck between the teeth. If this doesn’t fix the problem outright, then you might have a dental infection or small crack in the enamel. Give us a call as soon as you can so we can help before the pain gets worse!
Should I get a bridge, denture, or dental implants to replace my missing teeth?
The answer to this question really depends on a lot of factors, such as your oral health, preferences, and budget. In most cases, Dr. Kazmi would highly recommend dental implants because they offer the most natural-looking and durable solution of any tooth replacement, but they aren’t right for everyone. To learn more about your options and see which one would be the perfect fit, we recommend scheduling an in-person consultation. That way, you can have a definitive answer.
My teeth are misaligned, but I don’t want metal braces. What should I do?
It sounds like you’re a good candidate for Invisalign! This treatment uses clear plastic aligner trays to straighten the teeth that practically disappear after you put them on. With this system, patients are able to get the results they want without sacrificing their smile in the process. Dr. Kazmi is a proud provider of Invisalign, and you can learn more about it by giving us a call today.
Why are root canals so painful?
This is actually a myth! The root canal procedure itself is actually virtually painless, and it’s typically used to treat the absolute worst toothaches. This pain is often incorrectly associated with the procedure, but a root canal can actually provide immediate relief! If you have a hurting tooth or have been recommended to get a root canal, don’t hesitate to contact our office. Dr. Kazmi knows exactly how to keep patients comfortable throughout the treatment, and sedation dentistry can help prevent any unwanted nerves.
